EPL clubs expect Man City to be expelled for financial fair play violations

Clubs in the English Premier League (EPL) want Manchester City thrown out of the top division if the team is found guilty of breaking financial rules.

According to Sky Sports, the "big six" clubs are the most eager to see the "Citizens" sanctioned. In addition to Josep Guardiola's team, the "big six" include London's Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea.

Earlier, The Athletic reported that the management of English club Manchester City considers it likely that Guardiola will leave as head coach of the club before the imposition of sanctions. On February 7, the EPL accused Manchester City of more than 100 financial irregularities from the 2009-10 season to the 2017-18 season.

Manchester City is in second place in the table after 21 rounds of the 2022/23 English championship season. The team has 45 points. As part of the 22nd round, the "Citizens" are to play at home with Aston Villa on February 12. The match will kick off at 19:30 GMT+3.
