FIFA President Calls For Safety Measures Following Violent Clash In Turkish Football

Following the brawl between fans of Fenerbahçe and Trabzonspor, FIFA President Gianni Infantino took to social media to urge Turkish authorities to ensure the safety of players.

The incident involving fans of the Turkish giants took place on March 17, during the 30th round match of the local Süper Lig, which ended 3-2 in favor of Trabzonspor. A crowd of fans ran onto the field, and despite the referees' attempts to break up the scuffle, the ultras began throwing bottles and other objects at the footballers.

Fortunately, no one was seriously injured during the fight. Turkey's Minister of the Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, announced an investigation into the incident.
