Atlético Madrid are considering boosting their squad with the top scorer of the Portuguese league, Viktor Gyökeres, currently playing for Sporting.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the acquisition of the striker, estimated between 70 to 100 million euros, could be supported by Nike.
The source reveals that the Atlético sponsor is interested in facilitating Gyökeres’s transfer to the Madrid club and is willing to partially cover the transfer costs. Nike’s interest stems from their desire to keep Gyökeres, who has an exclusive agreement with the company, in their gear.
In spring 2025, the American company extended its partnership with Atlético by signing a new deal that will last until 2035. This renewal has placed Atlético among the top three clubs with the most lucrative sponsorship agreements, trailing only behind Barcelona and PSG.
