Norway striker Erling Haaland scored five goals in the sixth‑round World Cup 2026 qualifier against Moldova that ended with a score of 11-1.
Haaland became the first player of the 21st century to net five goals in a World Cup qualifying match. According to FIFA, the last time a player scored five in a qualifier was in 1977, when Austria’s Hans Krankl did so against Malta.
With the win, Norway earned 15 points and moved to first place in Group I. Their next match is at home against Israel on October 11.
