Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany commented on the serious injury suffered by the team's midfielder and captain Jamal Musiala during the quarter-final match of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
Vincent Kompany
I've rarely been so angry at half-time, not with the players. For these youngsters [like Musiala], it's their life. He just came back from a setback and now this happens. You feel powerless. My blood boils at that moment, the fact that it happened to a guy who loves this sport and is very important to our team.
The game ended with a score of 2-0 in favor of PSG. Towards the end of the first half, the 22-year-old midfielder collided with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Although the Italian played the ball, he inadvertently fell onto Musiala’s ankle. The Bayern captain was taken to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a fractured left fibula and ligament damage. He is expected to be out for at least four months.
