Harambee Stars defender Michael Kibwage says his move to Gor Mahia will improve him personally as a player, as it will push him off his comfort zone constantly playing under pressure.
The 28-year-old signed a two-year contract with the record Kenyan Premier League champions, just after his contract with Tusker FC had expired. Kibwage has been one of the best players for Kenya at the just concluded Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) and K’Ogalo moved with speed to secure his service es.
Speaking to Telecomasia.net, Kibwage says he looks forward to the challenge at Gor.
Michael Kibwage
For me it was a really great move, but one not easy to make. Tusker was a top club, chasing honors and I was doing well there. But I felt I needed a new environment, I needed to change to somewhere where I would not be in a comfort zone. There is so much pressure to deliver at Gor and that will push me so much. I believe this will get the best out of me and constantly keep me in toes. I am looking forward to achieving more at the club.
The defender will link up with fellow centreback Sylvester Owino, with whom he formed a perfect partnership playing for Kenya at the CHAN.
