Switzerland beats Cameroon by a minimum score in 2022 World Cup match in Qatar

The Swiss national team defeated Cameroon with a minimal score in the first match of the group round of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and temporarily topped the Group G standings.

The Swiss and Cameroon teams played their first Group G match at the World Cup in Qatar. The match took place at Al Janoub Stadium in Al-Wakrah. The only goal of the match was scored by Swiss forward Breel Embolo, who opened the scoring in the 48th minute. The player refused to celebrate the goal as his historic homeland is Cameroon.

Apart from the above teams, Group G will also feature Brazilian and Serbian national teams, who will meet face-to-face later in the day - the match at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail starts at 22:00 GMT +3.
