Borralho Announces Becoming a Backup for Chimaev vs Du Plessis Title Fight

UFC middleweight fighter Caio Borralho, currently ranked sixth in the division, announced that he will be the backup for the title fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Dricus du Plessis at UFC 319 in Chicago.

Borralho last fought in August 2024 at UFC on ESPN 62, where he won against Jared Cannonier by unanimous decision. His professional record includes 17 victories and one loss, with one fight declared a no contest.

Du Plessis fought Sean Strickland in February this year at UFC 312, winning by unanimous decision and defending the UFC middleweight title. He boasts a record of 23 wins and two losses.

Chimaev last entered the octagon against Robert Whittaker in October 2024 at UFC 308, winning the match via submission in the first round. He has 14 wins and remains undefeated.
