Former two-weight UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is facing a debt of 1.8 million rubles ($22,900) to the Federal Tax Service (FTS). His accounts may soon be frozen again, marking the third time in the last two years. This was reported by Telegram channel Mash.
The first scandal emerged in 2024 when Nurmagomedov owed 302 million rubles (four million dollars). At that time, creditor enforcement agents not only froze his bank accounts but also seized his property. A week after the freeze, the athlete settled his debt, leading to the lifting of restrictions. However, by April 2024, his accounts were frozen once more, this time due to the late submission of his tax return.
Nurmagomedov last entered the octagon against Justin Gaethje in October 2020 at UFC 254. That fight, stopped in the second round, ended with Khabib winning by technical submission.
Khabib made his debut in January 2012, facing Iranian fighter Kamal Shalorus. He secured victory in that match with a submission in the third round. He boasts an impressive record of 29 wins without a loss.
