Former UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira spoke about rumors surrounding a potential move to the heavyweight division.
Talks of a division change emerged after Pereira posted a video of himself stepping onto the scale, with his coach calling him a true heavyweight.
Alex Pereira
Let those guys kill each other in that [heavyweight] class. Right now I'm just focusing on light heavyweight.
Previously, Pereira mentioned he is ready for a rematch with Magomed Ankalaev this fall. Their first encounter took place in March 2025 at UFC 313, where Ankalaev won by unanimous decision.
Ankalaev has a record of 20 wins, one loss, and one draw, with one fight declared a no contest. Pereira's record stands at 12 wins and three losses.
