There Are Still Big Fights for Me to Have at Bantamweight: O’Malley

Former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley said that despite difficulties making weight he has decided not to change divisions for now.

Sean O’Malley, quoted by Bloody Elbow
Nah, I’m good, bantamweight, I’m still here, there are still big fights for me to have at bantamweight. 145lbs will happen in the future, yeah probably most likely, but we’ve still got work to do down here at 135lbs. It’s always hard (to cut down to 135lbs)… You feel like you’re dying every single time… It would be easier at 145lbs, yes, but we’re still getting it done at 135lbs in a healthy manner so we’re good for now.

O’Malley last fought Merab Dvalishvili in June 2025 as the headliner of UFC 316 in Newark, USA. Sean lost that fight by submission in the third round. His record stands at 18 wins, three losses, and one no contest.
