Oscar Pistorius gets parole after eight years

Disgraced sprinter Oscar Pistorius has received parole after eight years since the court deemed that he murdered his girlfriend. Oscar was sentenced to 15 years in prison after the court adjudged that he had shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp multiple times. Pistorius also sent a letter to the family of Steenkamp recently and her family didn’t like his approach in the letter.

Pistorius competed in both Paralympics and Olympics and had blades or stumps as his support as he is missing both his legs. Oscar clinched five gold medals during his time as an athlete and last completed in the 2012 Olympics.

Steenkamp’s family on Oscar’s letter
It was quite emotionally distressing for them. They did not know it was coming and it was sent to me by his attorney. What was also very upsetting was the disregard for their emotional wellbeing. They had to find out the parole board had already convened a date for parole and never advised them about it. opens a lot of wounds, or rips off the plasters they had put on those wounds.
