Scotland Women beat Irish women in a close encounter

Scotland women overcame a dogged Irish squad in the Women’s World Europe Region T20 Qualifiers. The Scottish women had to chase a target of 90 runs as they accomplished the task with one over remaining. For Scotland, Kathryn Bryce played an innings of 46 and that was the highest score among both teams.

Ireland Women won the toss and elected to bat first but their innings found no rhythm as only the opener Rebecca Stokell breached the 20 runs mark, however, she also fell after making 21 runs. Katherine Fraser picked up three wickets for just fourteen runs and headlined Scotland’s bowling effort. Then Scotland itself had an early wobble as they lost four wickets for 20 runs and then the fifth wicket at 42 runs before Kathryn Bryce and Becky Glen put up a fifty runs partnership for the sixth wicket. Becky made 22 runs off 19 balls as Scotland sealed the deal with an over left.
