Nadal Misses Three Match Points And Drops Out In Brisbane ATP-250 Quarterfinal

Former world number one Rafael Nadal of Spain suffered a sensational defeat to Australian tennis player Jordan Thompson (55th in the ATP rankings) in the quarterfinal of the ATP-250 tournament in Brisbane.

The match, which lasted almost three and a half hours, ended with a hard-fought victory of the 29-year-old Australian with the score 5:7, 7:6 (8:6), 6:3. It should be noted that the 36-year-old Nadal missed three match points in the tiebreak of the second set. It was only the second match for the legendary Spanish tennis player after his return to the tour.
