American tennis player Taylor Townsend, ranked 139th in the world, commented on her victory over Russian Mirra Andreeva, who is fifth in the WTA rankings, in the round of 32 at the 2025 US Open.

Townsend defeated Andreeva 7–5, 6–2. In the next round the American will face Czech player Barbora Krejčíková, ranked 62nd in the world.
The 2025 US Open takes place from August 24 to September 7.
