Ethiopian athletes continue to star in the marathon events as Yalemzerf Yehualaw finished the half-marathon’s 13 miles (21 kilometers) race track in 63 minutes 43 seconds during the Antrim Coast event. She beat the record set by Kenya’s Ruth Chepngetich by 19 seconds as African athletes continue to impress in long-distance races.

Yalemzerf’s compatriot Jemal Yimer won the men’s event completing the race in 60 minutes 29 seconds, finishing ahead of another Ethiopian racer Tefashun Akalnew. Jemal missed out on Mo Farah's time by a mere two seconds, who set the time in the maiden Antrim Coast half-marathon.
