Caroline Garcia vs Darya Kasatkina Prediction: Knockouts have already begun for these two

The WTA Finals are on and so far just one player has emerged as the favorite to the title, and she is of course, Iga Swiatek. The rest of the playing field continues to have no answer for the Polish phenom who keeps on dominating the competition. And in this game, Caroline Garcia who also suffered a heavy defeat against Swiatek takes on the talented Russian Daria Kastkina.

Garcia stood no chance against Swiatek losing 3-6, 2-6. She did her best to break Iga’s serve and had a 22-23 receiving points disadvantage which is not a big margin at all. However, she lost the way in terms of service games and won just four out of 12 service games as Iga’s relentless striking overwhelmed here. But that is fine, going up against Iga is an automatic loss these days. She remains in the Semis play thanks to her win against Coco Gauff so a win her can still mean that she has a huge chance of making it to the Semis, something she will be expected to do.

Kasatkina turned around her campaign after a loss to Iga Swiatek and defeated emerging USA athlete Cori Gauff 7-6, 6-3. Winning the tiebreaker 8-6 means that it was a close shave but she took the momentum to the second set and sealed the deal. She had a 79% first serve and hit 55% win on first serve while she was consistent in breaking Coco’s serve, earning a 41-34 receiving points advantage. She also eked out a 37-31 service points advantage to advance her campaign. She has a lot to play for here and if she wins, her place for the Semis will be sealed.

There is a difference in the experience between these two players but it isn’t like Daria is a young player, finding her feet, she has had her fair share of battle. She had a tough time going for deep runs in a stacked field but a win against Gauff is bound to bolster her confidence. Caroline’s forehand gives her the edge here and despite a loss to Iga, she has showcased tremendous poise in recent months, and her comeback has been inspiring. I believe Garcia will win here in two sets.
