A US man faces a three year probation for showing pornography on a broadcast of the Superbowl in 2009.

Frank Tanori Gonzalez pleaded guilty to computer tampering during a court trial, after being fingered for the crime in February this year.

Around half of cable broadcaster Comcast's 80,000 subscribers saw the explicit 37-second clip when they should have been watching the dying seconds of a tense final.

It took three years to track Gonzalez down, and he is now due to be sentenced on December 1.
