Comptel has executed a contract to provide its Comptel Provisioning and Activation services for Algerian operator Nedjma's mobile offerings.

Nedjma, the brand identity of Wataniya Alegerie, launched in 2004 after winning Algeria's third mobile license. The company is majority-owned by Qatar Telecom.

Some of the operator's legacy systems were having trouble coping with the operator's rapid pace of subscriber growth, as well as its growing range of services offered, Comptel said.

Nedjma is in the process of going live with Comptel's solution, after awarding the contract in Q1 2009.

Comptel said it has now provided software solutions to 280 service providers with a combined 800 million subscribers.
