Location-based ad revenues his $1.5b in 2016

Revenues from location-based advertising for free applications will have grown to almost $1.5 billion in 2016, a new ABI Research report projects.

Despite such growth, the study said LBA will still represent less than a fifth of the overall market.

Senior analyst Patrick Connolly said this means that LBA alone will not support everyone, and that off-deck stores present a great way of unleashing the long tail of location-based services.
