Automatic Reverse Charging Platform (Telkomsel)

Do not have enough money for SMS or a call? In the old days, we had collect call. Today, Telkomsel is bringing the same feature to its 190+ million users with Automatic Reverse Charging Platform.

The new VAS allows reverse charging for the nearly 10% of prepaid traffic that fails due to insufficient balance, often because customers forget to top up. The platform uses big data analytics to determine reverse charging.

The initiative helped Telkomsel unlock a new revenue stream--over $3.76 million per month. The company is also readying a regional based pricing scheme while laying the foundations for B2B2C service enhancements. The success also helped the company win the award for Most Innovative Voice Service or Solution.
