NBA Player Says He Would Defeat UFC Champion Jones

American basketball player James Johnson, who plays in the NBA for the Indiana Pacers club, talked about a potential fight with UFC heavyweight division champion Jon Jones.

In an interview with NBA YouTube channel Rookie Life, Johnson said:

I'd rock with Jones, obviously. I’d definitely need a year to work on counters and defenses against it so that we can stay on our feet. He started learning how to use your hands and your feet, what, after college? Like, I’ve been punching and kicking since I was five, six years-old.

Jones, 36, last fought against Ciryl Gane in March 2023 at UFC 285. Jones won that bout by first-round choke and claimed the heavyweight championship belt. He has 27 wins and one loss on his record.
