Ethiopian sprinter Letesenbet Gidey has registered a new world record in the half-marathon, completing the race in 62 minutes and 52 seconds. Ruth Chepngetich held the previous record, finishing the half-marathon in 64 minutes and 2 seconds. Gidey also won a bronze in 10,000m during the Tokyo Olympics. I'm so happy to break the world record in my first half marathon.
