Tusker FC head coach Charles Okere has described the weekend 7-1 thrashing at the hands of Sofapaka as the worst day in the club’s history, but has said the team will pick the massive defeat as a bitter lesson to be better moving forward.

Fighting for the title and seeking a win at all costs to reduce the gap between them and leaders Police FC, the Brewers were out of sorts as they suffered a humiliating loss that essentially put their league ambitions to the sword.

Speaking to Telecomasia.net, coach Okere says he was distraught with the result.

Charles Okere
It was humiliating and one of the worst days in the club’s history. We can’t hide from that fact. It was painful, still is to lose in such a way. It was a day where we didn’t give a good account of ourselves, we didn’t give a fight and we let the club down. But in life sometimes, the worst days might be the beginning of the best days. We take the painful lesson and look to do better. We have two more games before the season ends and we have to bounce back.

Second placed Tusker will face off with Kariobangi Sharks and Kakamega Homeboyz in the final two games of the season.
