Barcelona could be stripped of points or expelled from La Liga if prosecutors prove that the Catalan club bribed referees, Bolavip reports.
It was reported earlier that the management of Barcelona paid a certain amount of money to the former vice-president of the Technical Referees Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira. It is noted that the Catalans transferred 1.4 million euros from 2016 to 2018 to the company DASNIL 95, which is owned by Negreira.
In January 2023, Juventus Italy were stripped of 15 points in the current Serie A season. The Turin side was penalized for financial fraud.
