Rupinder Pal Singh and Birendra Lakra have decided to call quits for the Indian hockey team. Rupinder played a drag-flicker while Birendra held the defensive duties. Rupinder is also nicknamed “Bob” and has made 223 appearances for the national team. He also participated in an impressive Olympics hockey campaign, nailing four goals in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Lakra majorly played the center-back position for his team. His reliability and composure had been lauded often by the hockey experts. The defender made 201 appearances for the Indian team. Both Rupinder and Lakra won bronze medals during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as members of the men’s hockey team.

Standing on the podium in Tokyo along with my teammates with whom I have shared some of the most incredible experiences of my life was a feeling I will cherish forever.
