In an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net, Russian UFC fighter Irina Alekseeva discussed the upcoming fight between Sharabutdin Magomedov and Marc-André Barriault.
"This fight should go well for Shara if he fights like before. He needs to work at his distance, break down his opponent, and keep moving a lot. If he does that, Barriault will have a hard time landing a powerful strike because it’s much more difficult to hit a moving target. This strategy works well against knockout artists,” said Alekseeva.
I don't recall Shara being in heavy knockdowns or knockouts; he has a very strong head. Moreover, his stamina is excellent; he can throw numerous strikes, making it hard for his opponent to focus on landing one heavy punch. I believe Shara’s quick strikes will prevent Barrio from doing much. However, Magomedov should stick to his strategy of constant movement and stay alert.
Recall that the fight between Shara Bullet and Marc-André Barriault is scheduled for July 26 at UFC on ABC 9 in Abu Dhabi.
Sharabutdin Magomedov, 30, has 15 wins and one loss, while 35-year-old Marc-André Barriault has 17 wins, nine losses, and one no contest.
