In the Monday Night Football series in Week 3 of the NFL regular season, the NFL East division rivals Dallas and Philadelphia will meet. Who will be stronger? There are several betting options to choose from.
Dallas did not make any sweeping moves
Last season once again brought disappointment to fans of the legendary Cowboys. The team failed to make the playoffs with only six wins in 16 games. Nevertheless, Dallas owner and general manager Jerry Jones did not make any drastic changes. Mike McCarthy, the 2010 Super Bowl winner with the Green Bay Packers, begins his new season as head coach, while Kellen Moore remains the offensive coordinator. The only reshuffle on the coaching staff was a change in defensive coordinator. Mike Nolan was replaced by Dan Quinn, who has been the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons for the past few seasons, as defensive coordinator.
Dak Prescott also remained at quarterback. The playmaker, who missed most of last season due to injury, has approached the new season fit but doesn’t seem to be in the best shape yet. In his two starts, Prescott has 640 yards passing and three touchdowns but two interceptions. The Cowboys have one win and one loss. First, the Texans lost on the road 29-31 to Tampa. Then they snatched a win at the end of their road game against the Los Angeles Chargers 20-17.
And in Philadelphia, they changed almost everything
After their legendary Super Bowl victory over Brady and the Patriots, the Eagles did anything else. Last season was the point of no return. There’s nowhere to fall below the 4-win mark. Phila enter the new championship with an entirely new coaching staff and an almost new quarterback. The Eagles head coach is now Nick Sirianni, formerly offensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts. The defensive coordinator is Jonathan Gannon, formerly the cornerbacks’ coach for the same Colts. The offensive coordinator is Shane Steichen, who spent the last few seasons in a similar position with the LA Chargers.
The Eagles’ quarterback for the new season is Jalen Hurts, who is now unqualified as the primary one after Carson Wentz left. In his two starts, Hurts has 454 yards passing, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. Philadelphia have one win and one loss. First, the Eagles were 32-6 on the road against Atlanta. Then, on the home field, they could do nothing against the San Francisco Forty-Niners, 11-17.
Expert Betting Tips
A revamped Philadelphia have yet to become a team truly. Such global reshuffles in the off-season that took place at the Eagles cannot go unnoticed. Dallas, on the other hand, continues what they started last season. Prescott, McCarthy, and the rest have plenty of experience winning in the NFL and are unlikely to look as lackluster for a second straight year. Apparently, in the matchup with Philadelphia, the Cowboys will confirm their high level.
