Monday, September 6, marks the first game day of the top-tier international OGA Dota PIT Invitational tournament. Tundra Esports and SG esports will round off the day.
The OGA Dota PIT Invitational is an International Dota 2 tournament that will brighten up the September wait for TI10. The tournament takes place from September 6-10. The tournament will feature 8 of the strongest teams from China, Europe, CIS, South East Asia, North and South America competing for $275,000.
Tundra Esports: They need to continue the winning streak
The former ESL One Fall 2021 champion will now kick off the tournament as the top favourite. The lack of an invitational at TI10 motivates this squad to win every subsequent tournament.
Tundra Esports is one of the most stable teams, which throughout 2021 shows a good level of play, which, unfortunately, still did not take them to the International. They were close to the exit to the year’s main tournament in the European qualification, but they bitterly lost to OG in the final (2:3). It was a serious blow to their game, and they lost the Dota 2 Champions League 2021 Season 2 playoffs for no reason at all.
ESL One Fall 2021 was the most important event for the squad as there will be no more important tournaments before the int, especially with such prize money. OGA Dota PIT Invitational, of course, is not so high-profile and not so interesting in terms of money. Still, it is smaller, and there are few opponents, especially peers on the level of these Europeans, who are well prepared for this patch.
SG esports: The Brazilians are weak against the opponent
Once this team came to the first Kyiv major, they got to TI10, passing through the meat grinder of regional qualifications. The Brazilians did not stand out with any high-profile victories before that, so we are watching the formative story of these young Brazilians in real-time.
SG esports took part in ESL One Fall 2021, where the Brazilians failed to make it out of the group. The South Americans drew 1:1 with European teams Alliance and Team Liquid and the CIS representative Team Empire, but they lost (0:2) to their regional leader beastcoast and the best team in the world PSG.LGD. Not a single win at the top level. It won’t be easy to win now, especially in BO3 games.
